The gameverse calendar is reset every 100 years, so that the first year of the current century is Year 0 and the last year is Year 99. All calendar calculations are made with reference to Year 0 so that everything before Year 0 is denoted by a negative integral sign, and everything after as a positive integer.
The calendar is further divided into two time-eras: the Proto-era, which comprises all time from the beginning of the Earth to 1001 years before Year 0; and the Current-era, which includes all time from 1000 years before Year 0 to the Present Day. Because of this calendrical anomaly, the Proto-era grows constantly longer in the gameverse, while the Current-era remains stable.
